Beginning June 27th, we will be selling Brighton’s Kazuri jewelry.  With the purchase of this beaded jewelry, you will help support and provide fair wages and favorable working conditions for Kenyan woman involved with Kazuri, Ltd.  Through the sale of this jewelry, Brighton also hopes to raise more than $250,000 to build water wells in Kenya.

We just received word that one of our best-selling women’s denim lines, “Not Your Daughter’s Jeans” will be featured on Oprah today!  The topic is “Take 10 Years Off Your Looks” and will showcase makeovers that will transform women to look 10 years younger.   

“Not Your Daughter’s Jeans” is a great fitting denim line for women who do not want a low-rise jean, but do want an up-dated and sleek look.  Sizes range from 2 -16.

We have had an amazing Spring at Alapage!  Here is what is “Hot and Happenin’” right now in our store:

Denim:  7 for All Mankind, Citizens for Humanity, and Paige Premium Denim are still our best-sellers, but we have an old favorite and three new lines that are catching fire!  We are loving True Religion’s new “Becky ” jean which is cut slightly higher and drawing rave reviews from loyal True Religion fans.  Three new lines of denim are also selling quickly.  We have re-ordered our Hudson Jean styles already this spring as customers are very happy with the fit and unique styling.  Two new lines from LA, Denim of Virtue and Stitch’s, are also proving to be top performers even though they just arrived last month!

Tops: Bright colors and modern styling are the reason Language LA, Velvet, and Ella Moss tops are moving quickly.  For a funkier look, nothing beats Free People’s easy take on summer styling.  Michael Stars and Splendid are hits with great layering and wear-alone basics.

Dresses:  This season’s basic black dresses by BCBG and Vince are anything but basic!  Other top-sellers include Michael Stars and Splendid easy cotton knit short dresses and Language LA and Ella Moss sexy  ”maxi” dresses.

Accessories: Our brightly colored handbags and clutches by Latico and our long flowy linen scarves by Love Quotes have quite a following! 

Jewelry:  Alexis Bittar’s softly colored yet boldly cut Lucite necklaces, earrings, and bracelets have been a popular addition to many customer’s summer wardrobes.  For a simpler look, Dogeared’s simple charm and semi-precious stone necklaces have been selling out quickly. Many customers are finding these to be great graduation or biththday gift choices! 

Shoes: Sleek sandals from Yellow Box have been selling very well.  For a beachy look, our Reef and our Havaiana flip-flops have also been selling quickly.

Three hundred people attended the Animal Rescue League of New Hampashire’s annual “Gala” at C.R. Sparks on May 1st.  This event, which raised approximately $70,000, featured a fashion show hosted by Alapage.  Twelve models, including Rescue League volunteers and employees, and Dr. Susan Lynch, First Lady of New Hampshire, modeled clothing and accessories from our store.  Each model walked the “catwalk” with either a dog that had already been adopted or a puppy that was waiting for adoption.  Of course, the animals  were the stars of the evening!  Thank you to everyone who paticipated in or attended this very successful event.  And a special thank you to The Rescue League for inviting us to participate.  It was truly a special evening.  For more information on The Rescue League and/or to donate to this wonderful organization, please visit their website www.rescueleague.org

We have just received the news that our newest shapewear camis by “Yummie Tummie” will be featured as one of “Oprah’s Favorites”on her show this Friday, May 9th.  This new line of camis is so wonderful for those of us who would like the look of a regular cami, but need a little “control” in our tummy area.  The top and bottom portion of the camis are made of cotton,  but a slenderizing panel in the middle of the cami pulls you in right where many of us need it!  Because of this creative design, these are  comfotable and versatile layering pieces.  Available in two lengths and a few colors, these camis are selling out quickly.  We’ll be adding to the line this Fall.
